    We are looking for a Junior Software Developer to work with our web applications team to build
    API & other back-end services. We have a solid group of top notch problem solvers, and we'd
    like you to join us in having a substantial impact on our product. We are serious about
    collaborating, we encourage innovation both in the product as well as how we build it, and we
    are committed to writing well-tested software and to the growth of our team through pairing and
    code reviews. As a Junior Developer on our team, you will be surrounded with an ideal group of
    mentors who will help you grow quickly. While we're based in Austin, TX, we are open to both
    local and remote (within the US) candidates!


    • Write & maintain node.js applications, focused primarily on RESTful API services and
      data access.
    • Work both independently and also pair with other developers.
    • Participate in code reviews
    • Write unit and integration tests
    • Work with both frontend and backend teams to determine solutions & break down work
      from high level requirements into actionable tasks.


    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to work remote effectively with availability to travel onsite 2-4 times per year
    • 2+ years experience with node.js preferred - or a mix of node.js and experience with
      other platforms (Ruby, Java, C#/.NET)
    • BS degree in computer science or equivalent experience
    • Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies
    • Proficiency with JavaScript
    • Understanding of version control principles (preferably Git)
    • Basic understanding of HTTP
    • Experience with any web/api frameworks (express.js, Rails, etc.)
    • Experience with relational databases
    • You must be the kind of person who proactively looks for how you can contribute, and be willing to take guidance and instruction from technical leadership on the team


    • Experience with testing & mocking frameworks
    • Experience with non-relational storage engines (redis, etc.)
    • Experience with micro services/service oriented architecture
