  • Overview

    The Information Security Engineer implements and manages Planview’s information security tools and systems in both corporate and production environments.  Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, endpoint protection, and event management & correlation is required.  Experience with ISO 27002 technical controls would be very beneficial.  This is a highly visible and hands-on position responsible for security operations and incident response and requires practical knowledge in the areas of physical and logical security of applications, operating systems, databases and networks.  This position is located in our Headquarters in Austin and reports to the Chief Information Security Officer.


    • Implement and manage a highly scalable and fault tolerant security infrastructure in a fast growing technology company.
    • Participate in incident response planning, execution, and investigation and assist with forensic research as necessary.
    • Provide security support and escalation for issues providing rapid diagnosis, quick turnaround for corrective actions, and post-mortem analysis for near/mid/long term process and technology improvements.
    • Assemble, install, upgrade, configure, and manage network and security systems including hardware, firmware, SaaS, and integrated applications.  Hands on experience with firewalls, switches, load-balancers, SIEM systems and OS security required.
    • Maintain documentation, and provide audit documents to support Governance, Risk, and Compliance initiatives as required.


    • 5+ years of successful experience in security, IT architecture or engineering management. Significant understanding of IT Infrastructure technologies including network, server, end-point, mobile, storage and how security relates to the overall IT.
    • Previous hands on information security role with emphasis on:
      • Security operations
      • Incident response
      • Application and database security
      • Network security architecture
      • Security infrastructure technologies
      • Vulnerability analysis
    • 5 years of experience with knowledge and experience with Software/Infrastructure/Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions and architectures.
    • Experience working and supporting product development teams as it relates to information security best practices.
    • Bachelor's degree in an information technology discipline or equivalent work experience. Professional information security certification (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional, (CISSP), SANS/GIAC, CISM, preferred.
