Overview

The Payroll Administrator is a hands-on position responsible for timely and accurate processing of semi-monthly payroll for 450 plus employees, in multiple states, as well as filing various payroll related tax returns, handling garnishments and responding to employee inquiries regarding their paychecks.  This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Austin, TX.  This is an incredible opportunity for you to be part of change management with designing and integrating best-in-class payroll policies and procedures for a rapidly expanding software company! 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and submit semi-monthly payroll batches ensuring proper documentation is attached prior to payroll processing
  • Process monthly sales commissions and partner with the sales operations team on commission
  • Review approved timecards for completeness
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and provide employees with information as requested
  • Create, manage and support internal control activities
  • Coordinate with ADP to prepare for year-end closing including, mass social Security number verification, schedule payroll runs for the next year, create and remit W-2’s and ensure annual reports are accurate and timely filed
  • Research and setup multi-state localities and resolve tax related issues
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting to record journal entries for payroll runs and adjustments
  • Provide support to Corporate Accounting to substantiate compensation related audit requests
  • Assist on special projects and ad hoc reporting, as needed
  • Provide back-up support to accounts payable to assist with accounts payable invoice entry

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred
  • At least 7 years’ work experience in a multi-state environment
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Concur
  • Familiarity with payroll laws of the United States, and ability to research and update on a regular basis
  • Experience with report writing in ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Mergers and acquisitions payroll integration experience a plus
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service and written/verbal communication skills
