Overview

The Senior Accounting Manager is a hands-on position responsible for overseeing monthly close, financial consolidations and external audit including drafting financial statement footnotes.  The Senior Accounting Manager leads a team of five including general ledger accountants, domestic payroll, accounts payable, and Concur administration.  This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller and is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Austin, TX.  This is an incredible opportunity for you to be part of change management with designing and integrating best-in-class policies and procedures for a rapidly expanding software company! 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead and motivate the general ledger, payroll and accounts payable team
  • Manage monthly financial close including global consolidation for multiple international entities
  • Be the leader in monthly close including monitoring close status, communicating open items, adhering to deadlines, and collaborating with various departments to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and expense analytics
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements including cash flows, equity roll forward, and footnote disclosures
  • Assist in the development, analysis and implementation of new procedures to enhance department workflows
  • Establish, monitor, and document the implementation and maintenance of accounting procedures and processes
  • Review and approve semi-monthly payroll runs
  • Review and approve bi-weekly vendor payment monthly payroll runs
  • Serve as a liaison with the external auditors in matters of accounting policy and GAAP application
  • Assist on special projects and ad hoc reporting, as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and current CPA
  • At least 7-10 years’ work experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and private industry
  • Familiarity with multi-company and multi-location environment
  • Understanding of international accounting, including multi-currency translations
  • Experience with NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, ADP, and Concur a plus
  • Acquisition/purchase accounting experience a plus
  • MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
